The Bakermaults

We are a husband and wife team with 25 years of experience in education between us. I, Safina Bakermault, will be focusing on the teaching and learning of the programme and my husband, James Bakermault, will be dealing with all the administration.

Our Mission

Making a positive contribution to the lives of children is one of our biggest motivators. We love seeing children make progress and achieve the potential we know they are capable of. Seeing a child master a skill or grasp a tricky concept is a real privilege.

Teaching enables us to share our love of learning. We strive to constantly learn and enhance our own skills therefore are passionate about new educational research and trends and we incorporate this into our own teaching.

When tutoring, we encourage our students to take charge of their own learning by making sure that they play an active role in class and that they take responsibility for completing and discussing their homework each week. By having high expectations and providing a challenging yet nurturing learning environment, we have watched children’s self-belief and confidence grow.

Safina tutored my son for a number of years from Year 1 to Year 5. My son struggled with understanding the basic concept of Maths and to focus. He literally switched off to Maths. Safina worked tirelessly with him, repeating and going over the basics to secure the fundamental Maths facts. Safina worked with the school to ensure that they were following the same Maths program. My son is now at senior school and no longer requires Maths intervention. Safina is a kind and patient teacher. She has enthusiasm and keeps the lessons fun and interesting. Safina was a godsend to our family. I have three children, one with ADHD and dyslexia, one who is very proficient but lazy and my daughter who just hated Maths. Safina managed to inspire and engage all of them and adapt her teaching style accordingly to get the best out of them individually. She brought joy and light to our house. Then we found out we were relocating as a family to another country, leaving Safina and her magic. This was a huge concern for me. However, Safina helped prepare the kids to get them through the common entrance exams and get them into good schools in our new country so left us with the best parting gift she could offer!
